The so-called stubby squid (Rossia pacifica) is a species of bobtail squid native to the northern Pacific Ocean. The stubby squid&#039;s giant eyes, that "look painted on," delighted the scientists aboard the Exploration Vessel (E/V) Nautilus.</p><br clear="all"/>
