Why??????

Would someone please tell me why there was not one member of our local press came out to take aphoto or bother to give any interest in the event of Burn's Night, held at the Crescent Hotel and sponsored by the "Celtic Knot" group? Both papers were informed and asked to please cover it. This was a lovely evening with over 88 people in attendance. At least a third of whom came from out of town and were totally charmed by the occasion. Both the piper and the drummer performed with excellence and were throughly entertaining. Was this not diverse enough to warrent attention from our local Papers????

One reason could be that one of the papers has a staff shortage and didn't have a reporter to send to the event. Just one possibility.


BTW, this isn't an "official" response......I am just offering a possibility. Not everything is a slight or a conspiracy. Sometimes there just aren't enough people to do the jobs that need to be done is all and even reporters need a break now and then so they can have a life.

If someone from your event took any nice pictures and you take them to the newspaper, I bet they would be glad to publish one of them. And if you write up a short paragraph, they might print that under your photo...
This is what we did several years ago when we took money over to the food bank on behalf of our organization one year. Times-Echo printed it for us; however the Citizen did not. We had glossy black and white photos made for them and our "story" neatly typed.

Fortunately for our group, someone did volunteer to take some photos to the LCC. Now, we'll see if they are put in the paper!
