I am building a 26' yurt with 100" black cherry laths and 12' yellow pine rafters. Now sawing to finishing laths and am assembling first wall section. As that comes to close will be shaping and oiling rafters. To be raised mid October. Any help is welcome. Happy to trade labor. Leave message cell 612-991-5234. Construction is up north on 23 on state border.

You're listed as a member of the E.S.TimeBank, have you considered requesting assistance from there? http://community.timebanks.org/login.php?redirect=/myhours_view.php
Lots of folks have joined and added requests and offers in the past several months. Members can be found all over Carroll County from Downtown E.S., H.I., Beaver, Busch and points in between, over to B'ville and even Green Forest. There's probably some that would be more than happy to help get your yurt up...;)

I was thinking of blogging but not sure if that's ever going to happen but I will take pics in case. The pics I have from a month ago and more to come are posted at http://picasaweb.google.com/AndrewSchwerin/Yurt?feat=directlink (http://picasaweb.google.com/AndrewSchwerin/Yurt?feat=directlink)

I'm pretty happy with how the walls are coming. I learned its important to measure holes from the bottom rather than the top of the lathe.

anybody have a spokeshave they could borrow out? I want to turn the 2x1 rafter ends into 1" spokes
