I Will be starting/MCing an open mic to be held at the Lumberyard either on Weekend afternoons sometime or on Monday evenings, early. The concept is intended to gather together creative/artistic types in a sort of communal showcase. Artists, songwriters, singers, musicians, poets, writers/authors are welcome to share their works.

As weather permits, and when i am able to fetch my P.A. from storage, I hope to be able to hold it at Basin Park and in other outside venues.

Anyone interested? Pass the word!
Thanks, Geekfesters.

Best of luck, Jae. I hope to get down to see it sometime. I, however, won't step to the mike, as I have no artistic talents suitable for a microphone (unless you want a closing argument!). http://www.geekfest.com/ubb/smile.gif

Not writing much these days, but always happy to listen. OK, ok, I MIGHT read!

But for me, it will be Monday nights, can't do weekends unless a ballerina, a princess, a mermaid, or some combination thereof, is involved!

Can you play the gavels like spoons?

Can you do a rendition of the Rowan & Martin standard: Here Come da Judge?

Can you do stand-up comedy like ...

What do you call a lawyer gone bad?

Your honor

What do you call a judge gone bad?

Senator

If you peek under that robe, I'm sure you'll find a hidden talent. http://www.geekfest.com/ubb/wink.gif

Well, OK. But you say NO beautifully.

Let's call it minimalist poetry. Hai? No Ku?

See? that's what i'm talking about...you all could just show up and be witty. Do a little modern-day vaudeville or something...any sort of artistic/ performance art...maybe RWhite can just stand there and let Kim toss verbal darts at him with a slew of lawyer jokes....

I wanted to keep this in the queue, so you all won't forget. If you run into a creative person...first, say you're sorry for running into them, and then invite them to contact me about this open mic!
