Check your profile page and see if you made your new upload your profile picture as opposed to your avatar.

I just checked your profile, and I'm guessing the recliner that is currently your profile picture is the picture you want as your avatar. These are two different creatures. Click on user cp in the blue menu bar above. Then click "edit avatar", (not profile picture.) Does this help you?
