Please note I changed the title from charges to violations so as not to imply charges had been filed.

When educated, worldly people move into an area, things change. The good ole boy system doesn't last. People become accountable for their actions. People are arrested for what they do. They will no longer avoid it just because they sleep with the police chief or a detective.

Brenda,

Are you implying something that is a total lie?

Brenda, I'm delighted that you know who's sleeping with whom in town. Please share that information with us. I think it's an unfair technique to bolster your contentions by implying knowledge of other folks' love lives. That's McCarthyesque--"I have a list of communists in the State Dept." Won't fly far.

As far as this charge is concerned--that's the best he could come up with? What a silly waste of everyone's time.

You know, the same thing just struck me. Perhaps Kim and Jan could consider moving this thread to the archives in case these statements lead to civil/criminal ramifications.

"People are arrested for what they do. They will no longer avoid it just because they sleep with the police chief or a detective." What is it you're implying, Brena?

The candidates who are running on the "We Hate Kathy" ticket might want to have a chat with their supporters. Or not. Perhaps they approve of these methods. Or perhaps they think nobody knows the connection between the gossip that gets plugged into the local grapevine and their own political campaigns.
