EUREKA SPRINGS -- The Greater Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce will be conducting part of its business out of a little red caboose now that a local couple is offering one rent-free.

Ben Carson, director of the chamber, said Mike and Elaine Botelho have offered to let the chamber use the caboose as an auxiliary. It is located on U.S. 62 east of town.

"I thought (the offer) was really difficult to refuse," Carson said. "We will be able to give people the same kind of information on that side of town that we do on this side of town."

Carson said the caboose will be stocked with brochures on things to do around Eureka Springs and the surrounding area. There is also a garden, parking area and benches. The chamber hopes to have the caboose open no later than July 1.

The Botelhos own Splash apparel store and Mama Serra's Spaghetti House in Eureka Springs.

"I think they're super citizens," Carson said.
