We seem to have lost track of the subject in the former thread. I thought I'd start a new one.

I find myself in agreement with Alderman Dozier. At the June 3rd Council meeting he suggested that those involved in making or enforcing laws and rules in this City either comply and obey those laws or resign their positions.

If Debbie Frisbie is involved in what Alderman Dozier accused, perhaps she should resign or be removed from the HDC. From the statements of Alderman (Alderwoman??) Harrison it sounds as if Commissioner Frisbie denies she's operating a business. At least one neighbor and other posters seem to support her explanation.

On the other hand, it wasn't very many months ago that Alderman Dozier stated that he refused to perform his work as a HVAC contractor inside the City Limits because there were just too many regulations. I, for one, will be looking for Alderman Dozier's resignation before the next Council meeting.

For those of us who don't have cable, could you please enlighten us on what the issue is about the pond(s)? I do agree EVERYONE should follow the law and not bend it just to suit themselves when convenient, such as ignoring posted NO PARKING signs on parking lots or spaces just because it is after 5pm and there isn't a close enough space to the restaurant door for them.

However, I didn't know there was an ordinance against installing a pond on private property. Is this one of those things that require a permit? When I think of pond in a yard, I think something small and unobtrusive and not as noticeable as a flower planter. That's usually what I get for thinking, too.

S&L-

The issue is not ponds. Council member Dozier accused Debbie Frisbie of violating an ordinance which he did not identify by actions which he did not describe.

Council member De Vito said a few years ago that the next administration (his?) would name the members of all commissions.

He has also demanded that commission members be able to nominate their successors when their terms expire.

There is an effort in the City Council and elsewhere to gut the HDC and reduce the perimeters of the Historic District so no one has any control over what can be built
everywhere else.

That is the issue.

S&L,

The article in today's Citizen told me more than I knew when I wrote the above.

Thank you, Royal and Larry. I haven't seen the Citizen yet; I just finished reading the Echo and am still wondering what in this pig's world is going on? Is every single planet in the universe out of alignment?

Can't anyone in this town get along without thinking others are out to get them or talking badly about them or is it that THEY are the ones hearing voices and the voices are very anal? Lord have mercy.

This issue shouldn't die this easy. Since both issues were a lie by Dozier why hasn't the council asked for him to resign? What gives these people the right to lie and slander on TV with no punitive actions? Mr. Royal was right about free mud slinging. We should all have the right to public TV. There was nothing about this issue that Dozier brought up that was council bussiness anyway. I would hope you would all be outraged by what Dozier did. Do you really think a city council person should be sneaking around 86 year old lady's house? Do you think they should be going into her house with out her knowing? This just to trying catch a code violation. This was a unforgivable act along with his flat lying. His removal should be a demand we all make.
