City Council and city commission meetings are telecast with reporters present.
In short, they are instant media conferences for campaign speeches, trial balloon testing, mud throwing and shiv sticking in an election year.
But isn't equal time an issue if this disregard for the orderly conduct of city business continues?
Shouldn't any candidate or any candidate supporters be entitled to time before the commission cameras to speak on any issue for any length of time irregardless of the commission or the council's responsibilities?
Isn't the alternative to restricting media time and presence in favor of council and commission members' biases a star spangled invitation to lawsuits?
Genie's out of the bottle, Yuuma.
