Folks, those of ya who dont wanna hear bad language might outta go to another topic.
I just ahad a run in with some nasty old drunken b***Trd this eve on the carriage.
I had on my carriage a nice young family from Texas, with three small children.
A car passed me a little too close to the corner at the Grand central, not unusual. But this old fowl mouthed drunk comes PLOWING around the corner heading home from the liquer store most likely and has to SLAM on his breaks to keep from hittin the people passin me cause he was driving too danged fast anyway, and drunk.
Well, not being a gentleman or anything, he BLARES on his stupid horn and then commenced to cussing ME up one side and down the other in front of the kids and everyone. The GENTLEMAN on the carriage was ABOUT to get OFF the carriage and line his drunk a## but the old fool decided he had better leave.
ANY of you know who this foul mouthed drunk is? He is older, 60's mabe, big white beard, (not the guy who works at the mustard seed five and dime), overweight, drives a GREEN newer sport utility with local license plate # 175 FXZ
I'd like to have a few of my OWN words with him since the police can't do anything about it since they didn't SEE it.
I will be driving around tomorrow looking for a green sport ute.
Any of you want to know EXACTLY what he said so you can compliment him on his couteous driving and being such a good representative of your town, gimme a line.
I aint hard to find.
Tom "WEST"

You DID take down the name and phone # of your customers, didn't you? (OF COURSE you did!) They are your witnesses, and you have every right to see that this man gets arrested for at LEAST attemted battery with a motor vehicle. It would be hard to prove him drunk the next day or even several hours later, but I agree with you that the police should have ran the tag and issued him a citation. They still can. But then, someone someplace will just look to hassle you some more, probably. What a shame. You are a treasure here with what you do. I hear nice things about you all the time. And not JUST from your kin folks, but your neighbors, tourists, etc.
Tom, I don't know this clown but if you find him. Come get me and we can visit him. Did you call the police? You should.

seemstome: maybe someone needs to come vist you too. That's hardly the point. Let's just continue to run off visitors. Let's be ugly to and in front of them. Let's show our true colors. I'm about to give up on all of you.

Seems to ME that if you knew anything at all you would know that in almost every state in the union ALL HORSE DRAWN VEHICLES have the right of way with the exception of emergency vehicles, and it SEEMS to me that you have never been behind me or you would KNOW that i do make every attempt to pull over and or get out of the way when ever it is safe for ALL PARTIES involved for me to do so. Ask Kathy harrison, I even pull over for her! As far as people comming around me, it is their decision to come around, even if I DO 'wave' them, they have to make the final choice as to wether or not the goofy lookin redneck on the buggy actually knows what he is doin by waving them around, ask an officer theyll tell you the same thing.
Were they wrong for comming around me in a blind corner(and in a place where I could not POSSIBLY PHYSICLY PULL OVER)or was the drunk old fart wrong for diving like a drunken lush, driving more than double the speed limit thru downtown? you decide.

Mr. CG Did you call the police and talk to the chief? If not do. I think he will be glad to phone the SOB he may not be able to give him a ticket but he will give him a talking to. It is to bad that so many locals show no respect for out speed limits. That is why they ended up with those speed bumps on Mountain. I remember watching the meeting when some old lady said she could only get her Volvo up to 55 and the people were saying cars were going 70 up Mountain. Mr. Chief just shook his head. She didn't get 55 in a 15 mph was not ok. Personally I don't know you Mr. CG But everyting I see one of the carrages it makes me smile. So keep on horsing around. OG

I think I may have met the WIFE of the Old Fowl Mouthed Drunk this weekend.
Luckily my carriage was empty when she drove by in her old navy blue mercedes, belching nasty deisle exhaust and rattling like it had its oil changes AT LEAST every 50,000 miles. Well folks, she drove by and gave me the old one fingered salute all the way by.
Nice manners for a lady dont you think?
Transplants, gotta love em!

I had ANOTHER run in with the OLD foul-Mouthed DRUNK this weekend.
Saturday night, about 10:30, one of my other drivers, a very nice WOMAN was goning north on main street, about mountain eclactic, when she waved someone around, as we often do. Well, the person in the SOUTHBOUND lane stopped to let the guy comming around her carriage have some room. Nice right?
Not really. Just as soon as the person comming around the carriage got in the other lane, the SCHMUCK in the green sport ute' swerves over in the LEFT LANE, directly in front of her carriage, then BRIGHT lights her, adn then GUNS the gas and heads straight for her !If this dont qualify for attempt at assault or SOMETHING, I don't know what does.
This has GOT to stop. The police aren't going to do anything, so SOMEONE out ther who reads this board HAS to know this guy, if you do; tell him he needs to straighten up, or someone will line his wheels.
Well you can imagine the sheer terror goin thru her mind, being blinded able to see nothing but a pair of headlights headign straight FOR her at top speed!
Well I went out looking for him today, and I am a step closer to finding this old drunk.
I spotted his vehicle parked at the office supply, it is a dark green toyota 4-runner with a small luggage rack on top.
If I can manage I will get a picture of his vehicle so everyone will know to watch out for him since he obviously drives around DRUNK all the time and the police can't do anything to stop him.
He may find it funny to assalt a woman carriage driver, but just for the record, IIIIIIIII am NOT defenseless, I WILL stop MY carriage right in the middle of the road and we WILL settle this once and for all.
My friends have heard me say this before, and Ill say it again, DONT screw with the short redneck!

Have you discussed this with the local police? If so, and they have REFUSED to help you or direct you to help, turn it over to the Arkansas State Police. Main Street is a state highway. Go for it.
