I don’t see any reason why she could not be compensated on a contract basis.
The county authorizes funds for translator services in court.
It would take quorum court action or a line item in the Sheriff’s budget.
The County Judge might have some input.

Arguing on Geekfest is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while you realize that while you are getting dirty, the pig is actually enjoying it.
I think there is an election coming up soon, maybe some of those running for Quorum Court would take up this cause. Animal cruelty action would certainly get my attention for choosing a candidate.

I am somewhat known I am sure as an extreme cat lady so I need people who are concerned, like I am, for ALL animals and concerned for the lack of importance delegated to them by the court.
