Don`t they have anything better to do!
It appears that tomorrow, the last day for filing any new bills before the Arkansas Legislature, our own rep Bryan King will introduce a bill seeking to do away with any Domestic Partner Registrys in the state...read Eureka Springs!

No James..they don't. Anything remotely connected to being queer or limiting any kind of recognition of being gay is a great way for Reps to get financed for their next campaign. Bible money will flood into Rep King.
Since the inception of the DPR..and after the congrats settled down in the parking lot, neither the City, The Chamber, nor the CAPC has ever used the DPR as a positive marketing approach. The big 6 continue to love the money but have never once that I have seen stood publicy in favor of the DPR. King is being funded by the Bible Thumpers...same great folks who brought the Foster Ban into law. Guess we'll see this go around just what people are made of around here. Will they be willing to stand for what they believe to be the right thing to do? Or just wait for the press frenzy to die down and never have the balls to speak their mind? Go for it James...you and Teresa have a DPR too. I know the easy way out...and I'm just waiting and watching to see who takes it. Standing against something is damn hard. Who's first?

James, since you and Theresa stand to lose your official recognition as registered Domestic Partners, could you ask the mayor and city council to issue a strongly-worded resolution opposing State Rep. Bryan King's proposed legislation and proudly defend the one and only Domestic Partnership Registry in the state?
That would be a great way to off-set yet another round of negative national publicity for the city.

If Mr King files his bill, there will be a statement tomorrow night from the Mayor and hopefully the entire City Council supporting the DPR. Please call or e-mail your City Council representatives to let them know how you feel about this issue.
